105. People aren't griping about how awful a kids movie is. They're griping about how awful a Disney movie is. There's a bit of distinction. You see, once upon a time, Disney meant standards, and the only times there were animated sequals was if they were darned good--if they had a good plot, good writing, and heaven help us all, good animation. Of all Disney's direct-to-video sequels, only two of them can be held up to that standard of enjoyment, and even then, it can get kind of shaky. You have to understand--people aren't upset about Cinderella II in particular, they're upset about how far Disney has deteriorated, that these are the only 2D movies they were producing for years, and they weren't even in-house!

That said, I've seen clips of Cindy III. They were amusing. Still not Disney standard, and still with horrible animation, but at least they were amusing.


107. Actually, that's not particularly new. Comics have been doing it for decades. I mean, heck, insult-comics make their whole schtick about being a jerk in a funny way and people love them for some reason.
You're right, though. I personally really hate "fanbrat" because I see it bandied about at the drop of a hat. Never heard crazycakes before...kind of like it.


115. It really is a great scene. Granted, my favorite is the one right before it (mmm...Cosmo and Wanda Kathy). But that scene's just so great. No reason to be ashamed.


122. Troughton? I heart Troughton! Forget shallow, I am too--Pertwee's face disturbs me more than Troughton's. He was an adorable little space hobo!

134. Sorry to participate in something that's mere existance upsets you so. To be fair, I think we wouldn't have to write so much if the last two books hadn't blown so many chunks.
(yes, I'm aware there was fic before. I'm just saying. You write to fill a need/want, and most people needed/wanted better than that.)


151. Youy mean someone else was upset about what happened to Marietta? I thought I was alone.

"Hey, Rowling, you know that girl who joined the DA even though she didn't want to so she could keep an eye on her emotionally unstable friend (since she was the only one of Cho's friends to stick with her during that rough time), who after nearly a year caved into pressure from her mother, and from the Headmaster, who was most likely strongly hinting that her mother could be fired, who got hexed because Hermione tricked everyone into signing a blank contract without telling them, and had 'Sneak' spelled out in zits on her face for one single mistake...? Yeah, so, what happened to her?"

"Oh, she remained disfigured for the rest of her life. I hate traitors."

"Ah. What a comforting message to give everyone."

Guess we should be glad the books are from Harry's PoV. If we saw it from any other House's PoV, the main characters might just come off as huge, self-righteous jerks.


161. Maybe you're just not reading the rules properly? Even trollish secrets get posted. Usually, if a secret's not posted, it means you didn't listen.


162. I love that family, I love that show, and really, there are worse parental role models .

Wait, which sequels are you calling good? The Rescuers Down Under, I'll concede that, and...which other one? Toy Story 2 was good, but it was Pixar doing it, not Disney themselves. I'm curious about this elusive Good Disney Sequel.

Rescuers Down Under was one, yeah. (Saw it before I saw the first, actually.)

The others for me would be Aladin and the King of Thieves (not the second), because it had fun music that I still can sing along with, and a pretty cool plotline, plus John Rhy-Davies, and nifty character designs. It was a lot of fun to watch at any age.

The third, and most debatable would be Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. It has fantastic music. Yes, most of that fantastic music is from the stage show, and didn't make it into the first one, but Zira's "That My Lullabye" ranks up their with Ursula and Scar's songs as "freaking cool villians songs." Plus, like AatKoT, it was just enjoyable to watch. I loved all the extra characters, even angsty-antihero lion. (But mostly Nuka.) And unlike most Disney dtv sequels, it had some very dark moments (the abovementioned song and Nuka's death. That was rough.), so it wasn't just batting for kiddie-show.

The third Aladdin was decent, I agree. I can't watch the second one (that is NOT JAFAR, I don't CARE what it tells me it is!) but the third one was all right. And I've never seen Lion King 2, but I've heard it's one of the better Disney sequels.

I've heard Cinderella 2 is one of the worst though.

I can agree with the need/want thing. And while I like all the books I totally feel like the epilouge was right off of fanfiction.net I understand some people are really into the Harry Potter fandom and I think thats cool, it's just not something I can get behind.

Also, I haven't found a fic that can compare the the genius of the books
