The main reason F_W dislikes me is that I used to be part of F_W because some of my friends liked it, and then I saw that what F_W does is wrong, and instead of slinking quietly off into the dark and trying to forget it, I denounced the community. Period. I will never be forgiven for that, but I don't care, because it's not like I'm forgiving F_W next week. I still think who some of my friends are is part of the issue, but the main issue is that you all resent me for eating the red pill and waking up to what we were doing. If you don't like what I say, whether or not you think it's too personal, just...ignore my comments and don't read my journal? Too difficult? Don't answer that, it's not like I care what you think.

107. Mostly I agree with you. Although I did think "fanpoodle" for people who expect you to like everything a creator says if you like any part of a canon or write in a fandom was pretty clever. Because basically this is an issue I struggle with. I'm pretty clever so it's easy for me to say mean things that people applaud. I'm trying to learn to say things that people will still think are clever, but aren't so mean. Part of the problem is that there are a lot of communities that idolise and promote this behaviour. I'm not naming names, but can you think of one? Yeah. I thought you could.

I love how responding to things that are said to me in front of hundreds of people who aren't part of this is considered by F_W to be proof that I care what F_W people think. Accuse me of caring what people outside F_W who might be reading this could be thinking, and I might fess up to that one. But that's beside the point. Most people seem to think this was a lame, skanky, shit-stirring secret. Because it is.

I am never going to accept or even take seriously any assessment of my character flaws which comes from a group of people who think it is okay to point and laugh at other people, even people who are clearly in pain (whether or not you think their pain is justified), in public, and who in fact define this kind of behaviour as "fun".

Oh please. You joined FW because you wanted to make fun of one of your friends, not because you "had friends who liked it". You stayed for the same reason, then pitched a fucking fit that it was done to you. They've been NICE to you. They could have put up any number of things as wank, including but not limited to the racism you've shown on some of the Metafandom posts and the fact that your so-vaunted RP community isn't yours and was plagiarized.

I get that there's a lot of people on metafandom who have ideas about racism that I don't share and that not sharing those ideas defines me as racist in their book, (nice tautology there), so there's really not much point in arguing that? Wank away.

Now for the other thing. I joined F_W so I could post on a wank that one of my ex-friends posted that I was involved in; I did not post this wank. That would be Walpurgatory in September or October of 2003. At the time, we were friends, and she had my permission to post it.

I quit F_W not because of the way they treated me, but because of the way F_W people that up to that point I had considered friends were behaving at Harmony. I made that very clear.

As for LW: the community was GIVEN to me BY the original owner because I did most of the work on it and the players wanted it to go on when her real life problems made that impossible; she agreed to step down as mod, and she agreed that RP was not a good lifestyle choice for her when she quit. If she's singing a different tune now, so be it. She can wank away.

But she won't because she knows why we asked her to step down as mod. And why the people from the game who let her live in their house rent free for a year asked her to move out (and quit the game). There's a lot of ugly, intensely personal backstory. She doesn't want it out in the open way more than I don't.

Somebody else does though. Somebody else does enough to make parody journals of both her and me--deadfrompink and deadfrompurple--and leave comments in both of our journals encouraging us to trash each other in public. I wonder if that would be you.

Man, exactly how many responses from FW or FWers have you gotten for the many times you bring up how awful we are? Because you seem to think we attack you regularly. And we don't. I do not consider what FW does to meet the definition of "snark", which I agree is (mostly) harmless. To be snarky is to be witty. To indulge in the public humiliation of people whose biggest crime is usually that they got a little overemotional about something they (gasp!) cared about is not witty or harmless, especially in communities where reputation is so important. It's wrong. You clearly disagree, but you can just DEAL with the fact that I don't accept your definition of "snark".
