107. I don't know. If someone is being a brat IRL, I have no problem describing them as a brat. There are such things as fanbrats and fantards, though I think those terms can be overused. I've never seen crazycakes anywhere but I would probably use it to affectionately describe a character I love. XD Not a person. I agree that weeaboo is REALLY ABUSED LIKE WHOA AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS, but I really do think that when people say DIAF they don't actually want anything bad to happen to the other person (or maybe that's just me, with my hope for humanity).

I do agree that people don't have a right to be an asshole just because ~it's the Interwebs~, but I also think calling someone an asshole when they're being an asshole is no different or better than calling someone a fanbrat when they really are being a fanbrat. It's the trolls that I have a problem with, and the people who really think it's just the Internet, so they shouldn't have to care about other people's feelings.

A lot of people take this like it's a SURPRISING NEWSFLASH, but there is nothing wrong with loving a character who you would never like, or even hate, IRL- even to love them for the reasons you wouldn't like them IRL. An awesome character is an awesome character even if they'd be a horrible person.

137. While I can understand your frustration, you're doing it wrong. Sure, maybe they're overlooking canon het pairings so they can enjoy their canon yaoi ones. But so what? They're not hurting anyone. They are having fun and doing what they enjoy. That's what we're all in fandom to do. If you don't want it, skip past it. It shouldn't be that big a deal- let them enjoy themselves, and find the het portions of fandom and enjoy yourself! There's no such thing as "crossing a line" when you are enjoying yourself with a fictional series, and you don't have a right to tell other people to do something other than what they enjoy doing just because you think they should.

140. Meh, no big deal. I won't ever read/watch it, probably, simply because the storyline doesn't really interest me enough for me to stick with it, and I really dislike the art. One or the other wouldn't make or break it for me, but both together and I don't see a reason to bother.

Every time I read an opinion like the OP's I somehow imagine Mr. Spock saying "You can't ship this pairing, Doctor, it's not logical." Apparently a big part of this fandom has forgot that fandom is supposed to be about having fun. It's like you can't enjoy a pairing until you've justified your liking for it in a realistic way, otherwise you're a stupid fanbrat and deserve to be mocked.

If someone's behaving in a way that grinds your teeth, let them know. But when you start throwing insults, NOTHING gets done other than a flame war. Those words only exist to make people mad, which makes them language-baggage and useless for polite conversation. Throw them once, and intelligent discourse vanishes. How is a "fanbrat" going to start acting like a human being when they're just getting screamed at? Alternately, just being screamed at validates them, which means THEY DON'T GO AWAY.

DIAF has no excuse, even if people don't mean it. No one I know ever says it in meatspace, because people would get pissed. If it's not okay there, it certainly shouldn't be okay here.

He really looks exactly like Lamb- ohholyshitit'sRomeo." *laughs* Bianchi's dead ex-boyfriend whom TYL!Lambo looks exactly like, thus making Bianchi try to kill him every time she sees him... for... the win? XD;
