A good majority of pop music is banal. Why this particular song?

Not OP but for me it's the lyrics paired with her way of singing : she sounds so bored out of her mind with the song herself the whole time. I'm sure it's not supposed to be that way and she is instead going for more of a chill/cool kind of thing but it really doesn't work for me.

questioning why it's worth of a secret, since it happens all the time

in christian pop *especially*

like, I love that shit, but banality is kind of part of the appeal
