I'm in the same boat. I'm pretty good with Japanese but not fluent, so I can pick up words and meanings if I concentrate when listening to Jpop, but I have to put a bit of active effort into it. So with Korean, the audio aesthetic pings me as Japanese, but I can't understand ANY of it, which is frustrating and gives me a moment of "oh god do I suck at Japanese after all?"
