Tumblr showed me, in painful clarity, just exactly how little the internet cares about me or anything I have to say. I don't know why I have half the followers I do, since they don't care about my personal life, photos, opinions, they don't read my fic or respond to memes and forget about new fandoms I've wandered into, they don't seem that interested in the fandoms we're mutually into when I reblog those things from other people. So it's not even that they don't care about my original content, they mostly don't seem to care at all.

I don't feel like I'm connected to 95 percent of my mutuals and/or followers.

Same. My tumblr is just for posting landscape photography (not mine) and it's strictly a one way street. None of my followers know much about me and they don't ask me any questions. Which is fine because that's what I expected. But if I were on there to make fandom connections, I'd be pretty lonely.

Same here though. At least on LJ I felt like there was more of a connection.
