(Anonymous) 2018-03-17 02:54 am (UTC)(link)I wouldn't have minded at all if Hermione, Ron, and/or Harry had a racial or ethnic background that was not Celtic and/or Anglo Saxon but JK Rowling never intended that that be the case while developing and writing the books. All of them are white as snow. I don't think it hurts to headcanon Hermione as black or mixed. In the case of Harry, it's totally nonsensical and even ridiculous to me to try and make him non white but for Hermione it does make more sense. What "hurts" is pretending that Hermione simply is black or mixed and if you don't agree, you're obviously a racist. It's just race baiting from joyless assholes who need to ruin everyone's fandom experience to show off how morally superior they are.
