It might've been interesting, but I don't know if it would have worked. The problem isn't just that they don't fit with the new canon - they also just kind of don't make nearly as much sense with the way that the tone and direction of the series changed after that point. The stories would have had to really make a massive change. It's tough.

AYRT - Exactly. Hermione wasn't even really the same person as she was in HQoW. Hermione got an edge to her that I don't think would have worked.

I think Arabella's best best, if she had pursued any sort of closure, would've simply been to do the rest of the books from Hermione's POV, but outside of the HQoW series. And even that would have been tricky. I don't know. I think it's a shame they couldn't continue, but beyond Arabella's issues with fandom, I can see how they didn't work past GoF.
