134. Welp I don't like female gamers that constitute as playing Kingdom Hearts or Super Smash Bros as their base for being a gamer =X. Actually I've never had a problem as to proving myself as a gamer once guys find out what games I actually play and how I talk about them (but I don't play MMOs and I heard thats where a lot of the hate occurs). The only thing I've gotten as a problem is some socially awkward guys hitting on me because of it and its kinda... annoying.

168. Doc is TOTALLY awesome D= and I admit I went through a fangirl phase... ahaha XD;

171. Cassie is actually a character many people can be like... because she is selfish, emotionally absorbed, irrational, etc. Yet she also is rather intelligent in her own sense. For an anorexic girl she is not simply a mental case she just simply has a lot of problems she needs to work out. She actually reminds me a lot of a girl I used to know that was an A student but started failing lifewise and has ended up in rehab since then. I think Cassie is a wonderful character but I do agree that idolizing her is rather stupid. But... her character is so human and accurate and thats what I love about her.

I play them just not as the only games in the world. =/ Sorry but I just feel it doesn't credit female gamers if that's all they play. It kinda gives a bad image to girls that are gamers. I mean I don't see guys that play only sports games going around and calling themselves gamers... its like yes you play games... that are casual... but that doesn't make you an intense female gamer. but... just one girl's opinion.

So girls should only play certain games because of the "image" they give off? Pray tell, what is an acceptable game for a girl to play? Please give me a list; I would not want to shame my gender by enjoying Katamari if it suggests that Girls Like Pretty Colors or something.

Yeah, fuck that shit. I choose games based on my own tastes, and the hell with the image. I think that was kind of the point of the original secret

134. What do you have to 'prove' as a gamer, anyway? That you play really cool games that guys think are acceptable? Last I checked, plenty of males play Smash Bros. I've always tended to think of the term 'gamer' as referencing a person who plays video games more than casually. Why, exactly, are those two games exempt from that? Is there some super special knowledge that you're withholding from the internet, oh Wise One?

Er no they're just casual games. I meant those that play those kind of games specifically... in other words I was generalizing. As said above its like guys that play sports games calling themselves gamers. I'm talking about those who play Rock Band, Smash Bros, Soul Calibur, w/e if they are mainly games addressing large groups I don't really consider it as a gaming level when girls brag that they're some amazing gamer. Frankly its just my opinion but

Kingdom Hearts is an excellent game (okay well the first one anyway) but a lot of girls use that as a generalization that they are amazing gamers. I suppose it just gets to me after a while... I don't mind if you play them but how about other games that are challenging and aren't the popular consensus.

Since when does a game have to be extremely challenging and not popular to qualify as a "real game"? By that definition, people who play Halo aren't gamers. Or is that one exempt because it's a shooter?

I've seen more people brag that they're "teh l33t gamerz" after playing Halo than girls doing the same with KH.

Oh I agree and I do believe Halo is also the same way. I'm clarifying gamer in general and I was just using the female format, but it goes both ways for male and female. Playing a shooter doesn't make you a gamer. Hell, if you have only a few games under your belt most likely you don't invest the time to be an intense gamer. But that's fair if their casual, its not like I'll hate the people, I guess it just makes it that much harder to be taken seriously with people like that around.

But it is in any fandom. So it's not too much a problem haha.
