I know what you mean. I'm not into bondage, but don't mind some in an otherwise decent smutty or emotional ship fic, but I need to feel the characters are enjoying it or I'm not going to. Exhaustive descriptions of exactly what toys and harnesses are being used and how without much indication the characters find it hot isn't going to do it for me.
