NAYRT in my experience, people who write darker stuff tend to be aware of the fact that not everyone wants to see what they write so they tag it and are quick to point out if other people should tag. And if you like one thing (i.e. noncon) that doesn't mean you're okay with other things (like having tongues cut out), it doesn't make you squeamish to want tags so you know what you're getting into.
