So is this Spring Awakening or Glee? Because the harmonizing you spoke of (touch me in whispering) sounds like something I'd love to hear, OP.

*hisses at "Glee"* It's Spring Awakening, the astounding production put on by Deaf West that made it to Broadway. They made a lot of the cast and two of the three main characters deaf without changing any of the dialog (they use an interesting form of double casting, giving each deaf actor a "voice", a speaking/singing person in modern clothing), and it somehow just make the whole thing so much more meaningful.

*Ahem*

Believe me when I tell you that if you love the original, the revival will blow your mind. The whole show is about failure to communicate, right? Make that essentially literal and it gains so many layers, from Wendla's mother essentially not being able to speak the right language to her daughter to the creeping idea that Moretz isn't failing because he's stupid, it's because he's in completely the wrong learning environment (not to mention the implication that the school being prejudiced against deaf people).
