Shadowhunters TV. The movie was Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

To OP: TV!Jace is too Draco-like to me ( and yes, I know, but still); I liked the movie actor's more exotic look. TV Clary... well, yes, I guess she's prettier, and her hair is certainly redder.

But seriously, TV Magnus over movie Magnus? Have you eyes, OP?

Hmmm.

I haven't seen the movie at all, but the TV series cast is definitely ridiculously hot to the point where it's almost a problem watching the show for me.

Really? I watched the movie first (not gonna lie, for Godfrey and nothing else when it came out) but I find the movie cast better looking?

Everyone in the show looks so average to me (though in all fairness to them I really only made it through half of the first season and the shite acting did not do anything to endear me to them either).

I like both versions of Magnus, Godfrey is absolutely stunning but Harry is no less handsome to me as Magnus. That and I just love his character to bits.

Oh, I love his character too. I really think it's the Kid Rock pompadour hair on Shum: to me it does him no favors. (It wasn't that bad at first, but by 1.04 I was wincing.)

Eh I like his hair, but ymmv and all that. We don't always like the same things and all. :)

But I also just find Harry really hot no matter how he's dressed so I will admit I am very biased in this regard. :P

I saw pictures of him as not!Magnus (there's a video that compares the two casts both in and out of character) and I thought he was 5x cuter out of character.

(Also, very cute picture in your icon.)

I think I prefer his clean-shaven regular look, but he works with his facial hair+undercut/Mohawk thing he's got going on for me. But like I said, I'm just very biased. :P

Oddly, this is exactly WHY I couldn't get into the show. With the exceptions of Godfrey Gao and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I liked my less attractive cast in the movie. I started finding them attractive. The people in the show are too good looking compared to the original.

They are almost distractingly attractive. I can't look away from Emeraude's lips. Help.

Disagree on Simon, Magnus, Luke, and Jocelyn though. The movie cast were more attractive to me in those roles.

I'm the opposite - I stopped watching midway through season one because I coudn't stand the TV cast (aside from Harry Shum Jr).
