I have a feeling if I went to go look, Clint/Coulson would look alive and well by the standards of a less insanely sized fandom, but I am just assuming.

Clint/Coulson is still alive, but so is Clint/Natasha, and Clint/Bucky. Also Clint/his wife whose name I can't remember. Laura?

I rather adore Hawkeye. Most people seem to write him as a mix of movie and comic Clint, which is fun, and i have a super-soft spot for deaf!Clint.

(Plus, I do like Jeremy Renner quite a bit, so - perfect storm!)

He's never been a favourite of mine but people latch onto side-characters who don't have that much screen-time all the time, heck I do it with things I watch. So I can understand people caring even if I don't particularly.

Movie Hawkeye is quite boring, IMO. I understand there are people who like the character because of the comics, but I don't have that context and his portrayal in the films ranges from WTF (the whole Clint-has-a-farm thing) to dull (everything else). I think Jeremy Renner is a touch wooden and that doesn't help.

I can't explain why he is my favourite, but that's the truth of it and I'm not ashamed.

Not that I expect he'll ever be more than material for filling up the team.

Clint's the only reason I like the Avengers. I love him! Can't stand Clint/Coulson, though; to me, Coulson is dead as per the first Avengers movie. I'm all about Clint/Bruce (and, to a lesser amount, Clint/Tony). Not much fannish activity in those areas, so I just do my happy thing in my own head.

I love Clint/any superhero, comic verse or movie verse, I love Jeremy Renner and the memes too. I want him to have his own story arch. (Maybe a bit dark and personal, less war and a lot less 'mericah Fuck Yeah!?)

I have a bit of a soft spot for him.

He's not my favorite or anything, but he doesn't have any special powers or a suit, so I kind of think of him as the normal human able to keep up (I honestly can't decide if movie!Natasha is supposed to be normal or not, but I lean to the not side more).

I'm an archer. A field archer--no killing of anything besides targets and sometimes arrows--but an archer. And a left handed one (well, technically left eyed since that's what archery goes by, but I'm a lefty up and down) like movie Clint so I always thought that was cool. Plus I'd bang the everloving shit out of Coulson until neither of us could walk straight, so there's that in common, too, even if it's only in fandom. And Renner isn't unattractive if you can suspend your knowledge of how problematic he is in real life.
