Eh. It depends. For the most part, if I'm I'm looking for A/B, then I search A/B, I read A/B, etc. However, if a story that includes A/C along with A/B slips in, I tend not to mind it, if C is a character I can see with A or find attractive, etc. If I don't like C, I generally bypass the fic, or I'll skip the scenes where A/C is the central theme. So yeah, if I'm looking for A/B I want pure concentrated A/B. If it's well written and C is okay, I'll tolerate some A/C.

I think your interest is reasonable. Why would you want chocolate chip cookies if you asked for brownies? Even if they both contain chocolate, it's not what you asked for. Even if brownies are given to you after the consumption of the cookies.
