Re: How different is your fandom speak than your irl casual speak?

If by "fandom speak", you mean the way I communicate online then my online communication is slightly more formal. I drop way more curse words IRL and I'm much more casual about phrasing and grammar. IMO, written communication is different because you're doing it without the benefit of seeing the other person's face or hearing their tone so I actually go through greater trouble to make sure other people understand what I'm saying.

Same here. I swear a lot more irl than I do online (which, my fandom speak uses a fuck of a lot of swearing so that's really saying something). I also use a lot more kind of slang words and phrases and stuff irl than I do online, bc I worry people won't really understand what I'm saying or I'll be misunderstood online.
