I agree with you 100%. All the "squeeing" I do comes as a direct result of how much whatever I'm watching has affected me and enlightened me. I've been lucky that I've been able to find friends who feel the same way, and we can never understand why shipping is always more important than the real life lessons that really good television can bring you. :/

Yeah, I'm not going to make fun of you for this because I agree. Some shows... I think that's the point of them. Like Cold Case, or even Scrubs.

Yeah, see, I knew being a sentimental faggot would pay off. I think so, too. It's clear with a lot of shows like that that the point is never really to do the mindless entertainment thing. And don't get me wrong, I can dig the mindless entertainment and the lulz. But I think TV has more concrete value and potential than people give it credit for.
