Shipwars are always made of fail anyway. Apparently when I got into this show I missed the memo that liking Doctor/Rose meant I was supposed to vehemently despise Martha, so I ended up just liking all of them. Blasphemy.

But yeah, I've heard other people who prefer Martha talk about how rabid Rose fans make them dislike Rose, and to be honest it's kind of a similar reaction for me when Martha fans talk about how much Rose sucks. CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG :|

Tbh I think it depends which companion you relate to more but, I WONDER IF THEY WERE BOTH BOYS WOULD THIS BE HAPPENING?

I KNEW OF THE MARTHA-VS-ROSE SHIPWARS BEFORE I KNEW WHO MARTHA AND ROSE WERE. It's kind of sad.

I dunno though, if they were both boys it'd be like a... man!Martha vs man!Rose vs Jack vs the Master shipwar, so maybe it's for the best.

When people ask me my favourite companion, I say either Mickey or Jack. Just to avoid the Rose-vs-Martha wank :)

I love Mickey! And Jack, sure, but Mickey is way underappreciated whereas everyone and their mom loves Jack.

Hmm, my mother doesn't like Jack much - I don't think she enjoys having to explain certain things to my overly-curious seven-year-old sister... And yes, Mickey needs more fandom love. Hugs and love for Mickey.

Of course I 'ship it. But then again, I 'ship everything.

Seriously. I want to scream at some shipwarriors "THE DOCTOR LIKES THEM BOTH ENOUGH TO GIVE THEM A TARDIS KEY; why can't you follow his lead, dammit." I'd rather talk about their roles in the 'mythology' of the show than argue about which one makes for the better ship.
