109) You are gay with an exception. Plenty of people are straight with an exception (or three). Personally, I wouldn't call you bisexual unless you were attracted to men at least 25% of the time. Bisexuals gotta have standards.

114) I think fanfiction is a way for people who are inspired by the show to share their ideas with other fans. It helps to think of fanfic as not being "more" of canon, but rather "complimenting" canon -- filling in all the places that canon didn't, couldn't and shouldn't go.

117) I solved the problem by not reading Rose or Martha fic. I'm looking forward to seeing who the next fan is.

120) The Anime was much more about who the characters are, and a lot less about what they do, and the plot was rather secondary to the characters emotional states. The manga is much more straight up plot oriented shonen-style, where relationships are put on the back burner, and everyone concentrates on solving the intractable problem. I like both, but I like them both for different reasons. I can understand how someone who is more into exploring interpersonal relationships and character interaction would prefer the anime. However, from the point of view of a powerful story and plot, the manga whoops ass.

Ultimately, the manga is a well written story targeted to the things that excite and appeal to boys, if shonen style doesn't float your boat, then it's not for you.

126) I like beards, too.

133) Boggling -- those graphic novels will become classics, remembered for generations. Twilight ... not so much.

160) You can be a fan without being crazy and creepy. Chill.

I seriously love you for this comment.

sort of (very) late but....

120- despite the fact that the anime is more about the characters than the manga, I actually found myself rather liking the manga interactions more. I thought there were a lot of instances where the anime over-dramatized (like the whole Barry the Chopper episode, the aftermath of Lab 5, the Nina thing, to name a few), and I actually like how the manga is just a bit more toned down, less melodramatic. It makes the characters feel more real to me.
The manga plot wins hands down, though.

But a lot of people do like that soap-opera element. The subtext is what inspires them to write romances, and the manga is short on subtext even for the canon ships, much less non-canon ones, whereas you can look at the anime sideways and see subtext for practically everyone in every combination you please for the anime.

Actually, my personal reasons for liking the anime have more to do with the fact that the plotholes inspire me with delicious bunnies to fill them -- but that's pretty much not here or there.

I prefer the actual story of the manga. I find it more compelling and interesting as is -- but I don't see the need to write as much fic for it.

Though, I wouldn't say that the manga is completely lacking...text, because Ed/Win is pretty darn obvious (which personally, disappointed me in the anime, that they barely got anything) XD

I agree, though - the anime is like a fanficcer's heaven. When you combine everything, you really do have much more to work with than the manga, which seems more complete.

If the manga has a better ending than the anime, though, I will definitely prefer it forever.
