As for the "remake," I wouldn't be so sure about that. For one, it's not the manga that became crazy famous but the anime (I'm not saying the manga is not famous, but it was the anime that brought all that money), and it is what most people know better. If Squenix ever adds anything animated to the franchise it'll be based on the anime. Two, after 51 eps + movie + stuff, why would they decide to reset everything, then tell the same story again for like 25 episodes (where the anime diverged)? Three, having 52 episodes to play with is only reserved for really popular stuff. FMA is just not that popular anymore in Japan. Any possible new anime is more likely to have only 13-26 episodes. Not enough to even tackle the manga.

I may end up being wrong, of course, but in any case, I find it highly improbable that they'll do a remake (a sequel, maybe), especially one that's based on the manga that's still nowhere close to ending.
