She's been hated for 150 years by people who are incapable of grasping the point LMA was trying to make when she sank the Jo/Laurie ship, and by people who have a bitter personal grudge against anyone who fits the description of "conventionally feminine, artsy girl with good social skills and a decent fashion sense"

Amy was kind of conventionally feminine, but she was also kind of a rebel? I mean, the character I think of in those books as traditionally feminine is more Meg. Who I admit I'm guilty of disliking sometimes. Mostly she just bores me. Amy is interesting. I kind of love Amy and Jo equally.

I feel like a lot of people have a hard time with the concept of characters with flaws or of liking characters because they are complex and do bad things. Amy isn't perfect. The manuscript burning was really bad. But that's part of what makes her interesting to me. She starts out as really self centered, and she grows. She has a journey just as Jo does.
