But...some...DO hiss.

As someone who has owned tarantulas (who hiss), they sound NOTHING like cats. They sound more like a tire releasing some air slowly.

Fuck you, Eight Legged Freaks is a national treasure.

Tarantulas often hiss when aggravated. And it's terrifying.

Hisss hissss!

If they were bigger, you'd hear the hiss.

(Anonymous) 2018-03-30 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
You never hear the hiss until it's the last thing you hear.

If they hiss that's one thing - actually makes sense. But I am almost certain that a lot of games use pig sounds for spiders and that's just weird.

all I can think of is that episode of Dora The Explorer where the Spiders literally went, "spiderspiderspider!" when they moved along.

There are certain things where I'm glad they make noises. Back in the day when I was obsessively playing Tomb Raider 2 to the point of still being awake at past 10:30pm I was grateful for the heads up that one was about to appear with that weird scraping noise they made! Especially when you got to the levels with the giant ones.

But it's such a cute tiny little sound :(

KREEEEEEE!
