Huh. I feel like Stardust was more popular than it deserved to be, tbh.

I love Dark City and I wish it had half the popularity Blade Runner does

📣 VALERIAN 📣📣📣

Oh man it was so bad though

I could see it becoming a kooky film frequently shown in movie rooms at sci-fi conventions though

Netflix might buy Europacorp and the library and let Besson stay on...the budget...wouldn't be as much but since it's not unheard of for Netflix to spend a large amount of money on shit movies, this wouldn't be unheard of.

I so deeply wish that Valerian was good, and it's really close to being good, but the dialogue is just so corny and the movie isn't quite goofy and exploitative enough to make it work.

Also, the whole opening sequence on the alien planet really hurts the movie a lot I think.

So many foreign horror movies: Pontypool, Train to Busan, The Wailing, Under the Shadow, and The Host.

Amanece, que no es poco (Dawn Breaks, Which Is No Small Thing).

It's a Spanish surrealist comedy from 1989 which isn't even that popular here in Spain, let alone the rest of the world. I don't even know if it's ever been dubbed or subtitled into other languages, but if anyone speaks Spanish, I highly recommend it.

I actially watched gods of egypt this week for the first time. It's a solid adventure flic. Not nearly as bad as everyone said. CGI's pretty hokie, but it's still decent.

As a ridiculous action/adventure flick, I love it, to be honest.

I like the concept. I can't get past the whitewashed casting.

I dunno. We're talking about gods with gold blood who turn in to metal eagles and shit. I don't think it's a huge thing if they ain't historically accurate. If they wanted to make it historically accurate I wouldn't have objected one little bit (although the jury is out on what that would mean... Egypt was a pretty ethnically diverse portion of Africa) But if they just want to have giants wallop each other with spears, I can get behind that regardless of the colours.

And Gerard Butler being a massive ham is always a joy to watch.

It's a fucking bad movie and you only like it because every female character in it is extremely pretty

I'm not saying that's a bad reason, mind you

And every guy is hot. But that's not why I like it, so why should the only reason he likes it be because there's hot women?

It is not a bad movie. I've seen bad movies. It's not citizen Cain, I grant you, but for a sandals and swords film it is not even close to, for example, any of the dungeons and dragons films, Noah, Wrath of the titans, Samson, King Arthur, and so any more.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not denying loving all the totty, It was some very nice eye candy and I appreciated the hell out of it, but I've watched bad films just for the eye candy, trust me, I know what I'm about, this was not me sitting through a bad film for eye candy.

It's definitely worse than the first Dungeons and Dragons film imo
