Ha ha this! (I love The Terror - liked the book and am liking the show, but yeah. It helps to remember that we already knew they ALL died, but reading/seeing what it's like from the characters' perspectives is harsh.)

At first glance, I thought this was a scene from the Terror (Did I miss a scene? Oh...Disney lol)

I don't remember exactly what is going on in this scene (in fact, or a second I thought this was maybe something from The Handmaid's Tale), but I get what you mean. Once I'm dead, I don't care if I'm eaten by scavengers or if I leave an unattractive corpse decaying out in the wilderness or underwater, but I'd prefer not to suffer, would prefer not want to be in a situation where I *know* I'm going to die - not because I have terminal cancer or I'm really old, but because I'm stuck in a situation I can't get out of and there's no one to help - and, finally, I would want my family and friends to be able to get closure. Going through the ice on a frozen river is just about the worst thing I could imagine.
