AU trends you'd like to see

So I know that, for many of us, high school and coffee shop AUs have long since worn out their welcome, and I've been thinking about the various possible AU trends that I'd like to see take their place. I think the one I'd most like to see is retirement home AUs. Think of it! All your favorite characters sharing the same retirement village! Just 'cause they're in their golden years doesn't mean they can't have some naughty fun. Knitting group drama, bingo night hookups, bonding over complaining about their ungrateful kids who never call or visit, and accidentally putting in each other's dentures after a night of wild, hip-breaking sex and Monk reruns! Character A keeps stealing one piece from every single one of Character B’s 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles and holding them hostage, and this somehow leads to angry sex in a walk-in tub! Secret key parties held right under the staff’s unsuspecting noses! Underground denture fights! Residents holding dead pools on who's gonna die next, and sneakily trying to shift the odds to their favor, if you know what I mean. The possibilities are endless! Well, maybe not entirely endless. I don't think a slow burn romance would work too well in a retirement home...

Also, lest you think this is just an April Fool's joke, you should know that I am absolutely 100% dead fucking serious about this. That said, I do admit that this idea was inspired by this SNL sketch.

Anyway, what are your ideas for possible AU trends, F!S? I'd love to hear them!

This sounds so great!!! A Golden Girls situation would be awesome. There's so many themes to explore! Especially themes that lead to angst. Grandparent and surrogate grandchild adventures could be super fun too!

Other AUs...I'd like to see:
grunt work office AU (yes, some characters will be middle management, but not most)
department store AU
fast food worker AU

I think they have great potential for hijinks.

I'd like more summer camp AUs.

I've read several, but there should be more. A lot of summer camp is dumb and corny and uncomfortable, but I still remember it fondly.

Also:
Circus AUs
Late Night Talk Show AUs - every one I've read has been good, there should be more.

More people recognizing that slash IS an AU and not quasi canon or endgame canon or subtext canon.
