Re: Eating while depressed?

Plan ahead by getting things that you know, in advance, you can make with extremely little effort and not be disgusted by. I don't know what you mean by saying that everything needs to be actually cooked so it's a little hard to be specific.

Also <3 hope you feel better and the brain worms go away

I mean I don't have any food that would just need to be microwaved or whatever- everything I have would require some degree of chopping or seasoning or oven using or whatever, so it would take more than a couple minutes, which is why the whole endeavor seems daunting and futile to me rn.

I do try and get things in advance but 1. I run out of low effort food quicker and can't justify spending more on them and 2 all food seems gross to me like this, there isn't really a food I could stock up on that I won't be grossed out by. I just kind of hate eating :/ :/ :/ I'm trying to psych myself up to get out of bed but... idk how to motivate myself.

Thank you though anon. Sorry if I seem to negative, it means a lot to me that you responded at all :)

Maybe consider meal replacement drinks. They're not cheap, but they're low effort and at least you have a shot at getting nutrients on a regular basis. Believe me, I feel you on the depression. But sometimes you have to give up on the idea that meals are going to be delicious, enticing things and just look at food as fuel. Shove in those carrot sticks and hummus, make a PB&J, do whatever. Running out of fuel makes the depression harder to shake.

Yeah, it's definitely tough, especially when you're actively in the middle of it. And you're not being too negative at all. It's really, really hard.

I think for me a lot of it is trying to like... set specific goals for myself that are achievable? I think you kind of have to accept the fact that your energy resources are limited, and sort of say, I am going to get out of bed and I am going to grab a thing to put something in my mouth, and that's going to be all that I do, because that's the sum total of energy that I have available to me. For me, it's easier to do something that's small and specific and definite, especially if you define your terms around that, I guess?

So, like, even toast or a peanut butter sandwich, something you can just grab and eat quickly and then collapse again. or a banana or apple.
