Well, someone with normal hearing can hear more on a phone than someone who is hard of hearing, so I expect that someone who has super hearing can hear more than someone with normal hearing. But I agree that sometimes they make it ridiculous - the phone is only designed to pick up sounds in a small range so that you can hear the other person's voice and not all the background noise!
