The most telling scene is the one at the end where Hulk attacks Surtur. The Hulk's instinct is to smash: see giant monster, smash. Doesn't matter if it looks out of his league, or that he has no backup. Now you can argue that he does that because he wasn't aware of Thor's plan., but when Thor and Valkyrie tell him to stop, they don't explain their reasoning the way you would with an adult ally. They don't say, "Stop, we need him to kill Hela." Instead, they keep repeating 'no', in increasingly adamant tones: the way you would tell a child to stop.

People... Do that to adults, too, tho... Not everyone is a bastion of fucking communication...

When do people talk like that to adults? Only when the adult in question is mentally impaired (drunk) or has a learning disability (reduced capacity). This is the way the characters communicate to the Hulk, because this is a permanent condition for him.
