If you're in the UK: see if there is a group in your area who go to shows. In my current town we take a coach once a month to see a show in London. We pay anywhere from £35 to £60 and sometimes our seats aren't the greatest but it's always a fun time and much more affordable than if I went myself. We get group discount on the tickets and the coach hire is split between everyone. It's through a local theatre group that we do it but I lived in a town before where it was organised through the church.
