I'm the same way OP. They have some pretty intense moments together - The Last Man, McKay & Mrs Miller, and The Shrine come to mind - and I never did see the same kind of intense chemistry between Rodney or John and any of the other characters.

Luckily we're lucky in that there is much fic to read!

Well, there was that time John jumped into the plastic quarantine tent with Elizabeth to save her, thus possibly infecting/dooming himself with nanites. That's just off the top of my head. I'm not a John/Elizabeth shipper, but the reason I love the show so much is because there are a lot of intense moments bw a lot of the ensemble...it's a great show for that. E.g., Rodney/Carson in Sunday, John/Ronon in Sunday, John/Ronon in Outcast and Sateda...etc.
