I'm honestly curious why Stark tech HAS to be The Most Advanced Technology On The Planet. It's extremely cool, don't get me wrong, but there's no particular reason his has to be the best forever.

IKR?

In DC stuff, Batman has load of cool tech but he’s not the only. Why does Stark tech gotta be the be-all and end-all? Also Wakanda has been isolated for a shit ton of time. They would have their own technology different from Stark obviously.

NAYRT or any of the anons in this thread but I’d rather see Shuri and Tony both have a sulky “I’m the smartest person in the room/oh shit what if I’m not” moment (because Shuri is a teenager and Tony often acts like one) before devolving into techojargon—with breaks for Shuri and, less frequently, Tony, to explain stuff the other doesn’t get, not because Shuri is smarter, although she might be, but because while she’s been studying Stark tech for years he obviously hasn’t been studying Wakandan tech his whole life.

I think Shuri might be a bit smarter than Tony or at least less easily distractible, but his greater life experience balances it out a bit. And no, I don’t ship them, I haven’t really shipped anything in the MCU. I just think it would be fun for Tony to meet an intellectual equal who wants to talk shop and neither worships his genius nor feels threatened by it. And yeah, Bruce was kind of that, but not when he’s being the Hulk.

Goddamn. Here's all my money. Please to make this priceless scene. Or write the fanfiction of it. PlEAsEE.

I know the Fantastic Four are not in the MCU to-date, but isn't Reed Richards also supposed to have really amazing, advanced tech? And some of the Spiderman villains, too? I'm not that familiar with Marvel comics canon, but I had the impression that Tony Stark was not the only person who invents cool shit.

I'm pretty sure Reed is considered to be smarter than Tony in the comics, but I'm not sure.

Peter Parker is also supposed to be way up there (his web-spinners are HELLA amazing when you think about it, especially given his resources), but of course the MCU gave him a Stark (tm) suit.

Reed's probably the smartest, but he only makes tech for his own obscure research and to kit out the team. His major contribution to the general public, as far as technology is concerned, is goading arch-nemesis into throwing wave after wave of Doombots at it.
