At least for me and (and like two other people) it felt that way. What made you feel like it was a Marvel movie?

I mean, certainly there were vestiges of Marvel trappings, but I felt more engrossed in the story and the characters than some overarching Marvel plot. And overall, I just felt that in comparison to the other Marvel movies I've seen, this didn't feel like the usual superhero movie (which is what I associate Marvel movies with).

Uhm...I think that's a bit of a reduction/over generalization of the movie. Considering the plot revolves around a man who must inherit a throne facing the realities of his family, His history, and the injustices that surrounded his country and how nothing was done. And his arch rival is a guy bent on reparing the damage done to the oppressed...i mean...i don't really see the full Iron Man parallels (Tony has to right the wrongs he did? this at best?)...But if that's what you saw...

And tbh, if it really was about iron man in Africa, it would have been all about Shuri.
