What extenuating circumstances? Not being snippy, genuinely asking because I would LOVE to not dislike him, believe me. I think he seems lovely, but when I heard what the trap (apparently) had to say about the whole thing... it just depressed me so much.

I could name three or four; the one I feel most at liberty to disclose was that he'd just been done giving the eulogy at his very good friend's funeral, and so was not particularly in the mood to be harassed.

That's what I heard, though I didn't hear he was 'harassed' at all. I dunno, I guess it's all open to interpretation since we'll never know the truth, and I'd love to believe it's not quite as it seems, but if I saw any old bloke take a bite out of somebody's ear I can't say I'd have much time for them.

Oh, well. On TV he does seem nice enough, so who knows.

I have to say that I heard it from Alan and his wife and a couple of elves, and there was definitely harassment involved. It's a touchy subject with the two of them, and he is really incensed at how it was reported in the media.

*nods* in that case, I stand corrected. And I thank you for it. Like I said, I really didn't want to believe he was a bad egg. He seems so lovely on TV, and I enjoy his stuff far too much. Heck, I'm watching QI right now. So, yeah. Thanks for clearing that up!
