I think they're fun, too, OP, except for the whole 'coffee zombie' bit that everyone seems compelled to include.

What's a coffee zombie??

The person who stumbles around half-asleep and can't make intelligible words in the morning before at least one, but preferably multiple, cups of coffee. maybe?

The person who pretty much literally cannot function, speak, think, or walk without bumping into stuff without a huge cup of coffee in their gullet. I have never met one single person in my entire life like that, and it annoys me no end.

I also don't like it when people who we have seen in canon *are not like that*...are made like that.

It's a pet peeve.

I totally agree. I'm reading fanfiction for the characters I love, primarily, and having them be too out of character is a huge turnoff.

Yes! Exactly.

I am that person in real life. The medication I have to take at night leaves me a groggy, incoherent clutz when I wake up, and the combination of caffeine and the mild sensory shock of the bitterness really helps snap me back to functionality.

I mean, I'll get there eventually anyway, but it's the difference between getting there in a reasonable period after my alarm goes off, and spending an hour and a half trying to flog myself awake.

There's a difference between 'my meds make me drowsy' and 'coffee zombie'. You as a character would not irritate me.

Tony Stark as a coffee zombie irritates me.

I'm also that person, but without meds as an excuse. I just literally fall down the stairs every morning and sit on the floor in the kitchen until my coffee's ready, then spend half an hour drinking it so I can make breakfast without setting my house on fire. But at least I know I'm that person and set my alarm clock accordingly. Mornings are evil.
