What shows do you think went on for the perfect length?

Which lasted too long? Which were too short?

I wish Tru Calling, Being Human, and Forever hadn't ended so soon. :/ The latter two especially had so much potential IMO.

Cowboy Bebop was the perfect length. Most CBS shows go on for too long.

Jeeves and Wooster was too short, it never had a fridge nuke or shark jump or whatever you want to call it and Wodehouse wrote a million Jeeves and Bertie books so it's not like they were running out of material.
The Simpsons and SNL are literally decades too long.

SNL is such a weird one because like... there's no intrinsic reason that SNL should ever reach the point where it's gone on too long. Sketch comedy is sketch comedy. And they can replace people as much as they want so burnout isn't really an issue. And they can recruit from a huge field of people. And the show has actually successfully reinvented itself several times.

And yet! It does feel like it's gone on too long despite all that. Can't figure out why, except that it's something with Lorne Michaels or some fundamental problem with the production process that can only be papered over by extraordinary talent.

I'm assuming you mean the American version of the Office, the Brit one was really short.

I've honestly never met anyone who has seen the British Office, so it had never, until today, occurred to me to specify!

Perfect: "Leverage" (though I do wish it got another season based on the showrunner's future plans)

Too Long: "Castle" (I loved it, but I just lost interest after a while)

Too Short: "Pushing Daisies", forever & always

I feel that seven seasons was perfect for TNG and DS9, but too long for Voyager. Three seasons for TOS was too short, even if some of S3 was not so great. No opinion on Enterprise.
