But how can we prove that we are inclusive and accepting if we don't have our characters constantly preaching about every issue?

(even if it doesn't make sense for that particular character)

There's a very famous BNF in my wider fandom circle who does this - will have a character say something gauche and OBVIOUSLY racist about a random character of color when that's not even the character's bigotry of choice, just so that her Character Sues can ostentatiously correct them.

ETA: holy shit, I just realized that I know (of) TWO BNFs who do this. *rolls eyes*
