Isn't that were all time meets and he sees versions of himself at different ages?...that's what I took away from the ending.

It's the beginning that gets me. The thing with the apes goes on forever and ever, then tgge bone turns into an orbiting nuclear weapon, except there's no way to know that's what it is just from watching the movie?

The end is just "Weird shit happens, the end."
