TBH, I found the first season too depressing. I only finished it because my roommate wanted to and we haven't started the second season yet and I'm already feeling underwhelmed and meh about it.

Same. I couldn't even finish S1 (I think I stopped after the "theatrical wedding" gambit). While I admire how skillfully the production design and the acting evoked a creepy, depressing atmosphere, it was not something I wanted to spend my limited hours watching.
