Actually, I live in the projects so I'm pretty much surrounded by them 24/7.

I KNOW that they get offended, I know WHY they get offended, I just think it's STUPID. That's all I meant by my comment.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with The Boondocks, nor do I think it's necessarily reasonable to be offended over it. I just think that you were generalizing, and your wording basically read in my head as "THIS IS HOW BLACK PEOPLE FEEL", though that might not have been what you meant.

Well, I realize now that the phrasing of my comment didn't exactly get my opinion/thoughts across the way I actually mean them. I'll be more careful when I comment on such a sensitive subject from now on, then.

Because surely you speak for EVERY BLACK PERSON. I'd be more offended by the original secret than this comment. It's like implying that all black people are uptight and can't stand to see a parody of a certain subculture of American society.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with the show. I know that it's meant to make fun of the racial stereotypes, not condone them. I agree that it shouldn't be something to be offended about. But the comment was a sweeping generalization, and the way that it was phrased was really odd with all the "they"s and "most of them"s (as if saying only "most" of a group of people think/act certain way makes it NOT a generalization). As if black people are some kind of clan and act and react to shit collectively. I get a little miffed when any [white/upper-middle class/straight/christian/etc.] person says "Omg [blacks/azns/gayz/jews/disabled ppl] are so sensitive. Why can't they see the world EXACTLY the way I do?

Still, "This is how ____ group of people feels/acts/reacts" and "This is how I THINK they should feel" isn't a good sentiment, no matter who it comes from.

Lol, I know, but I'm a "bleeding heart liberal" and that comes w/the territory. It helps to counterbalance my parents, who say things like:

This happens on a daily basis. Sooo I try to be the exact opposite of them. Pisses them off beautifully!
