Not entirely the case. You can steal the best idea ever and still have a crappy movie. Some of it is original story idea, yeah, but a lot of it is execution. Even the ones that are questionable (I don't know about Atlantis and Nadia, because I've yet to see Nadia, but I think the only other really questionable one that isn't admittedly based on a fairy tale or something is The Lion King) I think stand on their own as good movies for the way Disney handled them.

Does this make The Departed not as good a movie as it is, because the script was the same as the one for the original Infernal Affairs?

I kind of think it's funny that in one of them Beauty and the Beast is being compared to... Beauty and the Beast.... which means the similarities of being based off the same story can be excused. >_> Not that I've seen the movie on the right though so I guess I can't really judge.

I thought everyone knew about the Kimba one though.

Seriously, anyone who thinks ANYONE in the 20th century came up with Beauty and the Beast needs to be slapped. It's hundreds of years old!
