That discussion will end up with someone using comparisons with Hilter. This Light discussion is nothing new and it did spawn with secrets that went Light is right and then it ended up with a secret comparing Light with Hitler and which is why that secret was formed.

Well, since the rumours of the movie started in, what, 2004? Something like that, I don't really see it happening. :/ Besides, it really doesn't have a very big fandom at all, unless I'm missing something. And the other two works listed, you never hear anything about because of how unknown they are. I think that was the OP's point?

Well, I heard the movie wasn't going to start doing anything serious until the manga finishes it run Stateside, which is December 2008. Well, on the imDb site, the movie is still in production and it seems to slated in 2009. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0469469/

I dunno, I see people talk about it on 4chan time to time and 20th Century Boys has been licensed by Viz for a while and will start coming out Feburary 2009 Stateside.
