Sadly, I just came here to go RAINBOW CAKE

Haven't seen all the seasons but maybe the judges mean it in the sense of "you're bringing flavours to this recipe that aren't traditional, and you've made it work well"? Which I'd take as a compliment, but that's me. I mean, just because you like a certain spice doesn't mean it works in every dish; part of being a good baker means knowing what will work together.

It's one of those tricky, weighted compliments that's complimentary but sometimes in a weird or double-edged way. I can see how OP would get weirded out about it.

I've been binge watching it for the past few days and lots of the contestants of ALL races have been complimented on their flavor skills.

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Complimented on sn individual bake, yes. But the people who get a reputation for consistently being good at flavors are usually POC.

It's just cause British food is normally so bland.

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, no. It's not necessarily highly seasoned, but that's not the same thing as bland.

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't call salt heavy seasoning

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
DA - Depends on how many pounds of it you use. :D

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you say original anon is...salty about the seasonning

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Just a pinch.

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither would I. Is anyone here claiming that salt is heavy seasoning?

(Anonymous) 2018-04-26 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I lol’d.

(Anonymous) 2018-04-27 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'd rather that than Paul freaking about about the slightest trace of cardamom! When I'm baking something with cardamom I always put in a bit extra for him.

(Anonymous) 2018-04-27 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Since they're in the UK, should it be cardamum?

This is the Pun Police

(Anonymous) 2018-04-27 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
If puns are outlawed then only outlaws will have puns.
