Besides, Yolei wanting to be a mother makes more sense than Matt suddenly wanting to go to Mars.

THAT ISN'T WHAT THE SECRET IS SAYING. Don't be so oversensitive. Questioning the choice to make a female character a stay at home mom doesn't mean you are saying that ALL STAY AT HOME MOMS are abandoning their dreams.

Agreed, Matt as an astronaut (or getting into high school) is pretty wtf, but all the endings were.

No, including the final episode itself. As someone else mentioned, there's NO WHERE that it says Yolei DOESN'T continue working with computers! Also, she's from a background where it actually makes since for her to want children. there's nothing in Matt's background to suggest he wanted to be an astronaut.

Actually, the reply to the anon above you says exactly what I was trying to say in my secret, with less and better words.

It's not that she's a stay-at-home mom. It's that it felt obligatory, I wasn't convinced it was what she wanted, and the other girls were mothers too and the ending showed what else they were doing/liked to do.
