Wow, muy Owen-hate. I knew there was a good reason I only admitted this anonymously.

Heh, I don't really hate him, I just found him generally unlikable until the end of season 2. And it annoyed me that the writers did that thing in the very first episode, where they gave him what was basically little different to a date rape drug with absolutely no apparent awareness or recognition that this was profoundly fucked up. But eh, all this is why I think Torchwood kind of sucks even though I watch it anyway.

Huh. I have been assuming all this time that (a) they did understand that that was the Ultimate Roofie and was at least morally squinky, and (b) that this was an important character note for Owen, that he was a guy who'd do things like that as long as he could rationalize it away at the end of the day. And honestly, I haven't seen anything so far (I haven't seen all of Season 2 yet) that seriously suggests that he isn't that kind of guy. (Dude plays dominance games with weevils, c'mon.)
