Oh no. Can they induce labor in horses like they can in humans?

Have fun having a bbq. I wish I had a fire pit where I live not because the weather has been great.

Not sure, but it's likely that she just don't want to be watched. They're sensitive like that.

Yeah, a friend has access to a fire pit so we're doing a variety of foods and our American friend is bringing smores.

Yeah when I was a kid we had a horse that was foaling. I knew it was coming and obsessively kept an eye on her for days and nothing. Then on a Sunday evening we went out to have dinner at a relative's house for a few hours and when we got back I went down to check on her and was like "MOM, DAD THE FOAL IS COMING...!"

Except then the mare kept getting up and lying down and generally restless and I'm freaking out thinking things are getting bad and Mom is calling the vet and the vet was like, "just stop watching her!" basically.

So we did and twenty minutes later there was a healthy foal on the ground.

So yeah, they don't always care to be watched.
