I see it more in historical fiction and it's the pits.

Loki called Natasha a quim in the first Avengers movie.

Though funnily enough that's not the first place I ever heard of it. When I was much younger I got into my grandma's romance novels and there was a pseudo-historical one where somebody uses quim to describe a woman's ladyparts.
