I think 'cock' is better than 'dick' for porn. I think 'penis' is nice when you're describing it outside of the action but like... I just wish more fanfic talked about casual nudity and like, when it's soft but it's there?? Like... if it's hard and it's active, 'cock', 'dick' can go either way, 'penis' is just a nice soft friend that you're allowed to touch if the other person says you can and maybe you just get to see him hangin' out in the shower or lying in bed and you like him, he's cute, he makes you smile. But if you've had your hands on him for a while then he's probably more of a dick working his way up to cock?

(also ugh there's no good word for lady parts. 'her sex' sounds so like... period piece smut somehow but it's not offensive or overly cringey. 'Vulva' is nice enough, like 'vagina' is always clinical and sometimes downright inaccurate, but I don't mind reading about someone going down on a vulva, a little attention to the clit at least. Only certain character viewpoints does 'pussy' sound acceptable, like it's so cringeworthy to me I can only write a cringeworthy character even thinking the word? 'Lips' works but can be confusing, and 'lower lips' is RIGHT OUT somehow)

Yeah, lady bits need some better words. Totally agreed about lips and lower lips! And labia is rather clinical too. "Her sex" sounds okay to me, though I can see why it seems quaint. I like clit but not clitoris. Basically any actual medical anatomy term is out for me, on women.
