What do you think morality is? What do you think that a moral objection is? I agree that the way that social media talks about this stuff is deeply broken, especially when it comes to stuff like the qipao wank, but this feels like throwing the baby out with the bathwater, morally speaking.

Like, I don't think it's bad to make moral criticisms of things, even of things that don't cause immediate physical harm.

He didn't say it was bad, and the fact that you would frame it that way is hilariously ironic.

I was actually trying to frame it as a question because I didn't understand what he was saying about "thinking you're owed something" for moral criticism

Well, specifically the Qipao situation has people feeling they're entitled to attack the chick. that they're owed her to take down her post, or apologise, or make some act to make them feel better, or look better. It just strikes me as scalp hunting.

I just think if someone is saying or doing something that you consider to be morally wrong, I wish more people would stop, consider if this thing is actually harming anyone, and then really decide if they need to try and make it be stopped. People don't seem to be doing that at the moment. People seem to be looking for things to try and fight and stop, and justifying it as bad after the fact.

Sure, I think there's some truth to that.
