You could at least write an author’s note at the end of every chapter to thank your readers for their feedback. It’s a fast/easy way to let everyone know that you do appreciate their comments, but without actually speaking to anyone directly.

I can understand not having the time, energy or desire to reply back sometimes (especially to 100+ comments on every update), but there should be a quick/simple way for you to show appreciation somehow. An acknowledgment of some sort is nice imo ... because while authors are not required to reply directly to anyone, readers are also not required to review anything either. Feedback is very important for anyone who likes creating things, so I don’t think it’s dumb or a waste of time to actually show a little gratitude at times.

Granted, I have no idea what it’s like to make something that gets 100+ comments for each update. I’m lucky if I even get 10 comments, so maybe that’s why I feel this way and why I still reply to everyone (eventually). I’ve always felt that a reader’s time is just as valuable as an author’s time.

Just my opinion.

AYRT

Yep! It's the solution I've come to already, just make a note every now and then to let people know that I read all the comments and appreciate them! On other fics I wrote, were I have much, MUUUCH less comments I like to take the time to answer. It's just a matter of sizes, really, when you somehow reach the point I got at with this fic, it's just unthinkable to reply to every single comment properly D:
