um. rachel was in a warehouse, tied to a chair, and surrounded by hundreds of barrels of gasoline and the BUILDING EXPLODED WITH HER IN IT. I don't really suggest anyone testing it out or anything, but I doubt most people could survive that. also, catwoman = selina kyle. I don't see why they would change Catwoman's name to Rachel Dawes when they kept Two-Face as Harvey Dent. :o also, if she somehow managed to survive that, she'd be more horribly disfigured than Dent.

I agree with you on the two-face thing, but it's wayyy more likely that he is alive than that rachel is alive.

Um. Surrounded by that much gasoline, if she did die, there would be no body left, and they made no mention of one, nor did they hold a funeral. In comic books, that usually means the character isn't really dead. I'm not suggesting she survived the warehouse, I'm suggesting that the Joker lied about her location, because wouldn't that be even more of a mindfuck for Batman and Harvey?

As for Catwoman, well, I'm leaving my options open. Rachel Dawes herself didn't exist until Batman Begins, I don't think it's that much of a stretch for the movie makers to twist her around in order to bring her back. There are no other important female characters in Bruce's life, and Catwoman is traditionally important to him somehow.

And I really do think Harvey is alive.

but...but you saw the room she was in EXPLODE with her inside! there was an explosion behind her before the whole room was enveloped in flames D: okay it's possible she was in a different location, but...you didn't just see a building explode, you saw her inside of an exploding room! D:

I assume the only reason there wasn't a body was because, like you said, it would have been lost in the explosion. and the movie was already much too long, a funeral for rachel would have made it even longer. it didn't really have any contribution to the plot or really couldn't have been that important, so it didn't really deserve to be added in if it had actually taken place. Harvey's "funeral" did have significance, which is why it was added. in any case, the time between rachel's "death" and the end of the film wasn't really that long a span a time, it wasn't as if a funeral couldn't have taken place after the movie was over.

...I also read somewhere that they might not want a catwoman in the future movies anyway. and even if they did, I myself wouldn't want Rachel to be her, but that's irrelevant.

also, how would that affect two-face if she were alive? like, say he found out? would he still be murderous and vengeful? it just seems like her being alive would kinda mess things up a bit.

You're definitely not wrong, though! You make valid points (especially about the catwoman thing), and it'd be pretty badass if she were actually alive, but....it just doesn't seem likely, personally. But, hey, we'll see, huh?

And I have no doubts that Dent's alive, either.

I don't want to insist she's alive because I know there's a very good chance she is dead, but I'm leaving my options open just in case. Now that you mention it, though, I do remember the room behind her exploding, so she's probably (hopefully) dead. I don't like new filler characters in my well-established canon movies. :/

I've heard they're staying away from Catwoman too. I hope they do. I'd rather see the Riddler and the Penguin before her.

It would affect Two-Face a lot because the Joker used her death in order to break his moral spirit. If he finds out she's alive after what he's done, after threatening Gordon and killing cops, dirty or not, it'll be a massive mindfuck. He let his more destructive side take over because she died and it wasn't fair, and he wanted life to be fair; finding out she's actually alive will mean he's killed for no reason.

Do you think they'll work a Robin in? Dick would be hard, with the Joker locked up, but Tim Drake would fit in nicely with this new Two-Face.

I actually don't really like Catwoman that much anyway, so... so I wouldn't mind if she never made it in at all! But I'm really banking on a badass Riddler--I want one sooo bad, I totally wanna see Nolan's take on him. I actually hear he's a real contender for the next film, alongside Two-Face.

...yeah, I feel like two-face might end up...killing himself or something with like a lack of purpose for his existence or something.

Ohh, haha, I also heard Bale doesn't want a Robin. I'm not sure if he was joking or not, but he said something along the lines of... if they put in a Robin, he's not gonna do Batman.

I don't know how I feel about having a robin, anyway. :/

I don't like her either. I would loooooooove love love to see Nolan's take on the Riddler, but I heard he's not directing another Batman movie, which makes me cry very sad tears. I think he could make a perfect Batman trilogy if he would just do one more before quitting.

I don't think he'd kill himself, but I think it would make him really two-faced. For most of the movie he was Mr. Perfect. DA Harvey Dent, and after the explosion he was Mr. Evil. I think learning that Rachel is alive would throw him back and forth on the issue.

Did he say that? I don't honestly follow it much past the movies themselves. I would only want a Robin if they did him correctly, with the tension between him and Batman and the like. Hmm.

sdlkjl are you serious? I have never heard that. Dude, if Nolan quits, I'm gonna cry. I don't remember a time when a change of directors has ever done well for my favorite movies.

...man, that sucks. he should at least deliver a Riddler before he leaves, seriously :/

yeah, I read somewhere in an interview that Bale doesn't want a Robin. I'm kinda wary of one myself, I feel like sticking him in could ruin a good thing. But, y'never know, they could find a perfect one that would just knock everyone's socks off and his presence would just illuminate the overall performance of the movie. or it could be overkill.

I heard it once from a friend, not from any reputable news source, so I don't know if it's true or not. I really hope not. I want a Riddler out of him too. :/

I'm wary that they'll mess him up, but I can see him being really good if they do it right. But it's a big if.
